What's Up: privacy policy

Last updated 30 October 2026.

What's Up is a private, internal tool for one software team. It is not a public service and has no public sign-up. It is run by its developer, Jemun (GitHub: simonjng).

What it accesses

What it stores

Short update sentences and the minimum row data needed to detect changes, kept in a private database on the developer's own server. Google sign-in tokens are stored encrypted on the same server. Nothing is stored anywhere else.

What it never does

It does not sell, share or transfer Google user data to anyone, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to train AI or machine-learning models. Its use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing access

You can remove What's Up's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To have stored data deleted, ask the developer, and it will be removed.
